Naavi is proud to partner with one of Australia's leading energy EPCs in the search for a Senior Design Manager, focused on their transmission portfolio encompassing work across BESS, solar and substations.
As the Senior Design Manager, you will have technical, commercial and management accountability across a high risk, high value portfolio, where projects exceed $100million.
Key Responsibilities
The role will entail the following key responsibilities and contributions:
- Providing leadership and technical expertise across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning
- Coordinating, problem-solving, and collaborating with various teams to ensure high-quality, on-time, and on-budget deliverables
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships and delivering timely reports on progress
- Reviewing and analysing complex technical studies, project scopes, specifications, and drawings
- Preparing project delivery schedules and proposals with a focus on maximising margin and minimising risk
- Training and guiding engineering design teams, supporting their professional growth, and developing robust templates for the design management function
Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Design Manager with specialised knowledge of project management functions, including schedule, cost, client and commercial management.
You will ideally come from an EPC background and will bring:
- Specialised knowledge of distribution and transmission systems, including substations
- Cross disciplinary technical expertise in substation, BESS and/or solar engineering activities, with a focus on protection and secondary systems
- Experience in the selection of substation equipment and material
- Familiarity with protection schemes, power system modelling and relay settings
